ROYAL RED, under restraint in a contending position in the backstretch, went to the outside for the drive and disposed of FAY FOO after a short duel. FAY FOO, on the inside all the way, secured room on the rail to make a stout bid in the stretch and held on stubbornly. BILL G. had good speed from the beginning, went slightly wide entering the stretch and finished well. CYCLORAMA had early speed to take a short lead, was botherea slightly when tiring between horses and faltered. VICE ADMIRAL was unable to engage the leaders. VALDINA MARGE was outrun. CINDY LEE moved into closer contention with a rush on the inside, opened up a clear lead on the turn and was not seriously threatened. RISKAIRE improved his position steadily between horses, went to the outside for the drive, but was not good enough. RED TORCH bettered his position steadily and closed stoutly. NIECESUE had good early speed and saved ground, but hung under pressure. GYPSY LEA was not dangerous. TIGER EXPRESS made a stout bid on the turn, but flattened out badly. GREGALACH, eased back from the early pace, was sent around the outside of the leaders for the drive, disposed of ARIEL ACE and drew out easily. ARIEL ACE had good early speed while racing with HIGH EGO on the outside, disposed of the latter to take a short lead between calls and was hard urged to hold CRAZY WHIRL safe. The latter, far back early, closed with a rush. RIVER PAT trailed the field into the stretch and finished fastest. HIGH EGO was used up racing with ARIEL ACE and quit. Overweight— High Ego, 2 pounds. TUEY TOY, under restraint while forwardly placed in the backstretch, responded when calied upon to move to the front on the inside and drew out under pressure. MEMPHIS BUD raced forwardly from the beginning, went to the outside for the drive and hung on well. SEE D. raced forwardly and evenly, but was unable to engage the leaders. IDLE SUN was forwardly placed all the way and held on stoutly. DONAFEL moved up threateningly on the final turn, but weakened. HEFTI HARRIS was. unable to improve his position.
