Col. E. R. Bradley Doing Well Following Major Operation LEXINGTON, Ky., June 7.— Col. Edward Riley Bradley, famous owner and breeder of thoroughbreds, underwent an operation, reported as "major," at St. Josephs Hospital here two days ago, it was revealed late yesterday. Colonel Bradley, who has been in failing health for several years, returned to his farm here from Palm Beach where he makes his home, on May 26. The operation was performed by Dr. Fred Rankin, eminent surgeon of this city, and a friend of the noted sportsman. While declining to disclose his friends ailment, Doctor Rankin today was quoted as saying that "Colonel Bradley was doing all right." The Bradley colors of white and green and known to turf fans in many parts of the country, have been victorious in four Kentucky Derbies. No other owner has won as many runnings of the coveted Churchill Downs fixture. His Idle Hour Farm near here long has ranked with the finest of breeding farms in the rich Blue Grass area. Many champions have been raised there. His stable is racing at Belmont Park.
