NOAHVALE, going easily while under wraps for six furlongs, responded to stout pressure while saving ground entering the stretch and outfinished BELLSBORO. The latter, not hurried early while saving ground, was steered to the middle of the track for the drive, disposed of WHERRIE inside the final sixteenth., but failed to stave off the winners bid. WHERRIE showed good speed from the beginning, was allowed to open a long lead, then shortened stride midway of the stretch and had nothing left at the end. UNITRAN moved up fast entering the final turn, then weakened in the final strides. BREVROME was under a drive early to shorten the lead of the leaders margin then weakened when in a contending position in the last stages. OCEANUS passed tiring horses.
