Prepare Aurora Track for Fall Harness Meet Work preparing the half-mile track at Exposition Park in Aurora for a fall harness meeting opening September 17 will begin today, according to reports here. The main item in the construction agenda will be installation of a lighting system, work on which is to begin immediately. Dates for a trotting meeting to extend through November 11 were allotted by the Illinois Harness Racing Commission a short time ago to a group headed by Mearle G. Farnsworth, Chicago businessman and owner of a stable of runners. Farnsworth also is vice-president of the Central division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association. It is understood that Leon Dygert will serve as racing secretary at Aurora. The organizational set-up of the group that will conduct the meeting, as well as plans for the season, are expected to be made public late today. The last running meet was held at Aurora in 1938.
