Election of Officers Held By New England Turfwriters SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston. Mass.. June 8. — The New England* Turfwriters Association held their first election of officers since before the war on Friday night at the Hotel Lenox in Boston. Henry McKenna, of the Boston Herald, was elected president to succeed Bill McAuley and John Aborn, of the Providence Journal, vice-president to succeed Billy Ames. Walter E. Hapgood of the Horsemens News, who has served the organization as secretary-treasurer for a number of years, was reelected to that post. All were unopposed. It was voted to revive the annual dinner of the organization last held in 1941 and president McKenna appointed Arthur Siegel of the Boston Traveler; Eddie Welch, of the Boston Globe; Eddie Mack and Tom Shehan to serve with him as a committee to draw up plans for the dinner and report back to the members in the near future.
