VEGAS WHEEL, forwardly placed and in hand the first half, moved up on the outside when ready, drew clear on the far turn, widened his advantage to the furlong post, then was in hand to the end. ALLPULCH, going well early under light restraint, was sent up on the inside, was unable to get through, eased back, then came to the outside and closed fast through the final furlong. REFRESH made a determined bid entering the stretch on the inside, but was not good enough. HAGGERTY was under steady urging to maintain a forward position, then flattened out in the drive. WAR DELEGATE passed tiring horses. TWO DOWN was unable to keep up. SPLINTER showed nothing. ERIC KNIGHT quit after a half. IN VOGUE assumed command in the first quarter, shook off SUPER FOOT, widened advantage under urging entering the stretch and drew out to win with speed in reserve. YES OR NO, outrun for a half mile, began moving into contention on the outside nearing the far turn, came around horses entering the stretch and closed willingly under steady pressure. DISPOSE was formidably placed from the beginning and had no mishap. ONECBILL closed with good energy. CREAM saved ground while close up, but was unable to improve position under intermittent pressure. SUPER FOOT tired after a furlong. LISTEN TIGER was unable to keep up. BEE W BEE failed to rally under urging. DECISION was devoid of speed. HEAT WAVE broke sluggishly and had no chance. NOONDAY SUN and OLD UNION were outrun. BLACK KNAVE, quickest to begin, continued gamely when displaced by FLEET WEST, then responded to stout handling to outfinish the latter in the final strides. FLEET WEST was sent up fast on the outside after the first quarter, drew clear, then was hard ridden to fight off the winners challenge. SILEE, unable to remain with the leaders in the first half mile, saved ground on the turn and moved up with a rush, then hung. RED CORONA was forwardly placed on the outside entering the stretch, then faltered. GAY PET raced evenly. The others were outrun. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE out of chute. SURRENDER, unable to cope with the fast pace set by FORE AND AFT for five furlongs, responded to stout handling while racing in the middle of the track and got up in time to earn a dead-heat. FORE AND AFT broke alertly, was allowed to open a long lead while setting a sizzling pace and tired badly at the end. LABOULAYE improved position steadily on the outside under steady urging, but was no match for the top pair. GRAY STAR was under a drive early, then faltered In the final furlong. FLYSOLATE passed tiring horses. TASCOSA was through after a half mile. LOW TENSION was outrun. GLADAGAL was not persevered with when soundly beaten. ELPIS, in hand for the first half, began working way up leaving the backstretch, saved ground on the final turn, then was under a steady drive to the end. STEPPING MISS was kept within striking distance while saving ground, came through on the inside leaving the quarter post, swung to the outside and closed determinedly through the final furlong. BURGOO MAID disposed of MEL CAVANO in the first half, drew into a commanding lead entering the stretch, then was under steady urging, faltering in the final seventy yards. MEL CAVANO had speed from the start, was rated behind the pacemaker for six furlongs, then tired. JAMOKE passed tiring horses. ELLEN MIST had brief early speed. CABLE, going easily while saving ground in the first half mile, was sent up on the outside nearing the half-mile pole to gain contention, then was steadied behind the leaders to the head of the stretch, was roused to challenge BLUE YONDER, raced on even terms until nearing the sixteenth pole, then drew out. BLUE YONDER, under a tight hold while following GAY MOONBEAM for seven furlongs, moved into a short lead, then was put to a drive when challenged and held on gamely. GAY MOONBEAM held on with good courage after setting the pace to the end of the back-stretch. PHIDIAS, a forward factor the first half mile, retired steadily when unable to reach the leaders. TOOLMAKER, allowed to settle into best stride while outrun early, responded when roused leaving the far turn, continued to gai nentering the final furlong and caught SLENDER LADY inside the final sixteenth to draw out. The latter was sprinted into command going to the first turn, was taken under stout restraint while enjoying a clear lead, then was shaken up in the stretch and held on well to the final sixteenth, then faltered. BOY SOLDIER was under light urging to remain within striking distance, then failed to rally when put to a drive in the late stages. DESERT BATTLE moved up fast on the outside nearing the far turn, then flattened out in the strech. SINGULAR was unable to reach contention when called upon. UNKNOWN REWARD had no mishap.
