Seventy-Four Nominated for 00,000 Hollywood Gold Cup to Be Run July 27 Busher, Happy Issue, Occupy And Historian Among Those In Mile and Quarter Event HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., June 10.— The Hollywood Turf Club Saturday announced a record number of 74 nominations for the 00,000 Hollywood Gold Cup which will have its seventh running over a mile and a quarter at Hollywood Park on July 27, and standing out boldly on the list of subscriptions is the name of Louis B. Mayers great filly Bush-er, the American turfs outstanding thoroughbred of 1945. Included among the 18 three-year-olds and 56 older horses are the winners of 36 stakes in this country, Ireland, Argentina, Chile and Panama, and a further study of the roster of eligibles show there are 21 California-bred horses, 11 importations from foreign lands and seven fillies and mares. In addition to Busher, who at the moment is under only the lightest training, the Gold Cup drew the nominations of such other racing luminaries as Miss Ethel Hills Santa Anita Handicap winner War Knight, who is not training at all; the Happy Stables Happy Issue, who captured the Cup in 1944 and the only member of her sex to win it; Abe Hirschbergs Occupy, winner of the Shriners and Argo- ► naut handicaps, and currently Hollywoods leading candidate for handicap honors; the Maine Chance Farms Santa Anita Derby hero Knockdown; the Woolford Farms Historian, Star of the LaSalle and Lincoln handicaps at Hawthorne; Bernard Seroys Hilly er Court, who took the New Orleans handicap last winter, and J. H. Logans Biscailuz, a stakes winner in the Argentine and captor of the Havre De Grace Handicap several weeks ago.
