RONCAT had early speed, was under restraint while racing with CONTROVERSY and, on the inside, took command through the stretch, then held on stubbornly as CONTROVERSY came on again The latter took a short lead before the winner and, on the outside, went slightly wide entering the stretch, then came on again at the end. FLY WHISK was under restraint until the final turn and finished well, but was not good enough. KHAYYAMS KID, a forward factor throughout, held on well. DEVILSAND was never dangerous.
