I l • I I Announce New Manager For Puett Gate Company LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 10.— Mervyn LeRoy, newly-elected president of the Puett Starting Gate Company, reports the appointment of Col. Maurice Bytell as general manager to replace Edward Deen, whose resignation became effective June 1. Bytell, just recently discharged from the Army Air Force, in which he served as a lieutenant colonel the past four years, has a background of wide experience in the business field. Prior to his enlistment in the Army, he served as sales representative of the International Business Machine Company in New York. Colonel Bytell has also had experience in the field of industrial engineering, and is mapping an extensive program of research to improve the Puett gate. The recently reorganized company consists of Mervyn LeRoy, well-known motion picture producer and director, president; Col. Maurice Bytell, vice-president and gen-l eral manager, and I. H. Prinzmetal, secre-■ tary. The board of directors are Harry L. "Bing" Crosby, star of screen and radio: Arnold Grant, well-known Los Angeles and New York attorney who recently obtained control of Del Mar; Frank C. Dougherty, local attorney; Mervyn LeRoy and I. H. Prinzmetal.
