LAZY BONES broke alertly, opened a commanding lead in the first half mile and continued to win with the rider looking back in the stretch. WINE-CUP, slow to begin, responded to stout handling while moving up on the outside and closed willingly in the final furlong. BROADWAY JIM was a forward factor while saving ground and had no excuse. BUCKLE UP rallied mildly in the final sixteenth. MAD SADIE was under urging to maintain her position. JENKINS was never a serious factor. YAFINOB went evenly. CI LIGHT made up some around from a slow start. RUDE MINX showed nothing. SCOTCHGRASS quit after a half mile. LITTLE FOXY was not persevered with through the stretch. FIRST SENTRY went to the front at once, saved ground while drawing clear and was in hand to the end. GOOD SWEEP, bothered slightly when FIGHTING FLAG tried to bear out soon after the beginning, recovered and closed with determination through the stretch. OIDENASAI rallied when shaken up entering the stretch. BUSY COUNT was forwardly placed while saving ground and closed gamely in the final strides to earn a dead-heat for third. PLAYER LEE raced in spots. GUNNISON had good speed in the first quarter while forcing the pace, then flattened out in the drive. FIGHTING FLAG was well up in the first part while trying to bear out, then raced wide entering the stretch. BATTLET had no mishap. LAND LIGHT broke sluggishly. ICYSTREAM assumed command in the first quarter, drew clear under light urging, maintained his advantage despite going very wide entering the stretch and was ridden out to the end. VOUCHER, forwardly placed, rallied mildly through the stretch, but was unable to reach the winner. PHANTOM PLAYER saved ground entering the stretch. SANGONE weakened under a drive after forcing the pace to the head of the stretch EVER ON went evenly. NEDIANA broke alertly, but was unable to keep up. CLASS BOOK passed tiring horses. KATHY had brief speed. AGRONOMIST, well placed on the outside in the first half mile, was unable to improve position under steady urging. The others vere outrun. IRON PENNY, allowed to settle in stride, moved into contention with a rush, then was steadied behind the leaders to the furlong pole, then was shaken up, disposed of ROSY MORN and was hard ridden to hold BIMONT safe. The latter, slow to get going, raced wide on the turns while trailing for six furlongs, responded to stout handling entering the stretch and was catching the winner. HAPPY PAT was a forward factor from the beginning and had no excuse. ROSY MORN took over command when PRINCE FAVOR weakened, drew clear leaving the backstretch, maintained advantage until well in the stretch, then faltered. LET ME THRU turned in a dull effort. TOWNHOUSE raced evenly. LINWOOD WAG was unable to reach the leaders under urging. PRINCE FAVOR was not persevered with when tiring. BLIND BABY quit. JOHNNY JR., forwardly placed the first half mile, moved up leaving the backstretch, passed MARKSMAN and continued on under stout handling to challenge GAY GINO near the sixteenth pole, then drew out in the final seventy yards. GAY GINO sprinted into command at once, was steadied along while enjoying a clear lead to the stretch, then was roused and held on stubbornly. M0MO FLAG, saving ground while outrun for seven furlongs, came through on the inside leaving the backstretch, swung to the outside when straightened out, then moved to the leaders nearing the seventy yard pole and hung. LINWOOD JIM saved ground from the beginning, then failed to rally when put to pressure. MARKSHrAN retired steadily after three-quarters. COOPERATIVA was outrun. SIXTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. HIGHEST BID raced in spots, looming rounding the final turn, then faltered. ANVELT had speed while saving ground for a half, then sulked when put to pressure. ONE LOOK, steadied while setting the pace, was roused to meet the winners bid and held on stubbornly. JOBLOTS, well up while racing on the inside, had no excuse. MAGIC HASTE, unable to reach the leaders early, saved ground entering the stretch, rallied under vigorous handling, but faltered in the final sixteenth. BUSY MINE was unable to keep up. JOHNNIE MAGINN moved into contention with a rush on the far turn, then flattened out. CALABOZO passed tiring horses. COUNTESS PLAY went evenly. SWEEPNACK was never prominent.
