NAYADA opened a clear lead immediately after the beginning, was not hurried when AMBER GLOW was sent to the front, came to the outside for the drive and was up in the final stride. AMBER GLOW had early speed to take command in the back-stretch, drew clear, saved ground and just failed to last. HEYDAY, very slow to settle in stride, was forced to race on the outside to improve his position and closed very fast. MISS SIPPI was a forward factor from the beginning, but could not reach the leaders under pressure. FLASH A TAN raced evenly. HALF LIT flattened out when put to hard urging. FIFTH . UP GRADE lacked early speed, moved around on the outside on the turn and closed well. KANSHORE raced forwardly and evenly, but was unable to engage the leaders. GLACIAL RUN was unable to threaten. FLORIZAN SAM, waited with well off the pace, moved up fast between horses in the stretch and closed stoutly. FORT VANCOUVER, a forward factor from the beginning, made a determined bid through the stretch and hung on gamely. LIKEASNOT, under restraint close to the early leaders, saved ground, took a short lead at the furlong pole and hung on stubbornly. BOLO TIE, a stout contender all the way, finished well between horses. HI GALLANT drew into a clear lead on the outside on the turn, but weakened slightly right at the end. PAT FULLER, away fastest, dropped back at once, moved up behind horses in the stretch, then flattened out. ABRAZO weakened after racing forwardly to the stretch. GOLD TINT quit.
