Payot in Front Throughout In Delawares Sussex Handicap DELAWARE PARK, Stanton. Del., June 15. That familiar race track axiom "horses for courses" was brought forcibly to bear here this afternoon as Walter M. Jeffords Pavot led from flag-fall to finish to score a well-deserved victory in the ninth running of the 5,000 Sussex Handicap before an enthusiastic week-end throng of approximately 22,500. Racing over a track that has furnished the backdrop for some of his most noteworthy victories" Pavot, superbly and confidently handled by Aubrey Snellings, reached the finish of the exactly one mile and a quarter test two lengths clear of William L. Branns fine filly Gallorette, who lodged a game but unavailing charge to reach the leader through the final eighth. Third money fell to the heavily backed Stymie, who was closing steadily through the stretch, despite his steadying impost of 126 pounds.
