L. H. Thompson and Al Gaal Elected to HBPA Posts HAWTHORNE, Cicero, Til., June 15. Lawrence H. Thompson, was elected vice-president of the Central Division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association after a poll was taken of the ballots during an election here last night. Thompson succeeds Merle G. Farnsworth, former vice-president, who he beat by 16 votes. Al Gaal retained his post as secretary and treasurer, winning by a wide margin over H. C. Hoffman and J. J. Cummings. Those elected to the executive board were Frank Nugent, Otto Bagley, W. H. Bishop, R. Salvino, J. L. Oglesby, J. P. Keezek, P. L. Kelley, C. Troutt, J. Lowenstein, B. Creech and E. Carpenter.
