BROWN MOGUL was steadied along back of the pace, moved up into command in the final furlong and drew away. NEWSPRINT forced the early pace, disposed of BOOSTER, but could not stave off the winner. POMPALADE was well up all the way and had no mishap. I BELIEVE finished well. BOOSTER quit under urging. BEAU QUEST raced evenly. IRISH COUNT had no mishap. JOINVILLE was fractious at the post. VIOLA was slow to settle in her stride, then worked her way up and finished with good courage. STAGE MOTHER, under pressure, made up ground in the final quarter. HALS GAL was sent up fast on the outside rounding the stretch turn and faltered. SPRING THAW tired at the finish. GIGGLET began slowly. SWEET TATERS had early speed. The latter was hustled along from the beginning, showed early speed, bore out slightly entering the stretch, then faltered. BROADWAY JOE closed ground resolutely In the stretch. SHUSH, a prominent factor throughout, showed a good effort. SHIFTY PLAY raced well. AFREET began slowly. SEA WOLF had no mishap. WAR PIPPIN could not keep up. EASTER BONNIE had early speed. ASSAULT was under restraint early, but was forced wide on the first turn, began improving his position going to the far turn, came to the outside entering the stretch, where he was roused sharply, overcame bumping from BE COURAGEOUS, assumed command and drew away. WINDFIELDS was. taken under restraint when BE COURAGEOUS was hustled into command, saved ground on the far turn and stretch turn, then finished determinedly. LORD BOSWELL was outrun early, began to improve his position in the stretch and finished well, but could not menace the leaders. CABLE was a forward factor under steady restraint, but, in the final furlong, faltered when placed to pressure. WAR WATCH raced well, but could not maintain his position when urged. BE COURAGEOUS was hustled into command when settled for the run through the backstretch, drifted out slightly on the stretch turn, then continued to bear out, only to flatten out badly at the end.
