MIOLA was a forward factor from the beginning, secured room on the inside entering the stretch and disposed of MR. R. S., then held BIZ safe. The latter, never far back, improved her position gradually and closed with a rush between horses. SONNY HAYNES, forwardly placed from the beginning, held on stoutly MR. R. S. had speed to outrun the field and take a clear lead, but bore out slightly entering the stretch. DISPATCH raced evenly and forwardly, but was unable to improve his position. RATION was steadied within reach of the leaders, responded well when roused to move around the outside entering the stretch and drew clear under pressure. BOLD LUCY had good early speed to take command, gave way to INFINITY K. on the back-stretch, came on to take command again on the final turn, but could not resist the winner. VERO LUMEN lacked early speed, but moved up very fast in the final stages. INFINITY K., well placed from the beginning, took command on the backstretch, but weakened. GLORY STEP raced evenly. WINNEBAGO was hustled to the front at once, was well rated there while saving ground and just lasted to hold ROYAL NED. The latter was rated closest to the pace of the winner, was placed to stiff urging in the drive and just failed to get up. DORA M. improved her position gradually and finished well. PARI-JOE raced evenly and forwardly in a good effort. SAMMIES IMAGE was unable to improve his position. W0LFESS flashed early speed, but could not keep up. TREE TOT was outrun. BAGNELL was steadied within reach of the early leaders, was sent around the outside for the drive and was going away at the end under pressure. LIBERTY JR. was a stout contender from the beginning, took a brief lead on the turn and held on stubbornly. DARBY DEIRDRE trailed to the turn, then closed with a rush and was going fastest of all at the end. PRAHS had speed to take a short lead while racing with LIBERTY JR. and held on well on the outside. LITTLE SNAIL raced evenly, but could not improve her position. BESSIE VANCE had early speed, but fell back steadily. POLITICS was never prominent. Scratched— 21958 Army Glider, 113. JESTING FOX had early speed, but was eased back to permit LIGHTFOOT LADY to take the lead, took command on the turn when WOW challenged and fought it out willingly while saving ground, but was not good enough. LIGHTFOOT LADY had early speed to take a brief lead in the backstretch, but weakened. TED MOSQUERO closed some ground from a slow beginning. THOROBELLE raced forwardly early, but could not keep up. LIGHT REIGH was not hurried early, improved his position readily when shaken up, took command leaving the backstretch and was not in danger thereafter. MONTREE was steadied back of the leaders, moved into closer contention on the inside on the final turn and finished well, but could not threaten the winner. ALAN F. was sent to the front and steadied there, then saved ground, but weakened. GAINER raced evenly, but was not a threat. MY GRACE had early speed, but was used up trying to get to the front and quit. HEESADATE had some early speed, but could not keep up. Overweight— Tom Wade Jr., 1J pounds. ROSE EXHIBIT trailed early as usual, moved into closer contention on the inside after a mile, secured room on the inside to drive to the front in the late stretch and was going away at the end. WHISCENDENT was rated close to the early pace, secured command on the final turn, went slightly wide and could not resist the winner. RANDOM BREEZE took a short lead after a half mile, saved ground while in command, but could not meet the bids of the first two. PILATESUN lacked early speed and passed tired horses. MISS WINKS could not improve her position. TACOMA had early speed, but raced wide all the way. Overweight— Miss Winks, 3 pounds. Attendance, 9,750; Total Mutuel Pool, 20,972.
