Dignitaries From Washington To Witness Renewal of Derby CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 2. — Among the Washington dignitaries on hand for the 1947 Kentucky Derby renewal are Mrs. Frederick Vinson, wife of the chief justice of the Supreme Court, and Mrs. Walter F. George, wife of the Georgia senator. Postmaster General Han-negan and Secretary of the Interior Krug also have reservations for Derby Day at the Downs. Other political notables expected are Gov. Preston Lane of Maryland; his predecessor, Herbert M. OConor; Senator and Mrs. C. Wayland Brooks of Illinois and Republican National Chairman Carroll iReece.
