ROUGH CLOUD, away slowest of all moved between horses to reach contention early, assumed the lead leaving the turn and held sway without need" of urging. LOUIS L. set the pace until displaced by the winner and held on well. DARGL0 improved his position gradually and may have been a serious threat had he not lugged in near the furlong pole DOT A was hard ridden to stay with the early pace and tired. RUN BUD RUN showed nothing. ARDENT MISS was never a serious threat. VETERAN was through early. CASH moved into serious contention after a mile, weakened shortly thereafter and bobbled sliqhtly while tiring. He should improve off the race. GRAND ILLUSION was never a threat. MASON DIXON, slow to settle in best stride, rallied willingly when roused, was nicely handled while moving between horses in the early stretch and drew clear while being ridden out. FREE SON moved to the leaders after a half mile, attained a slight lead briefly in the early stretch, but could not resist the winner. MISTER CHAT was shuffled about on the first turn, moved willingly on the outside rounding the final turn, then appeared to be lugging in during the drive. DIVA was hustled into a forward position early and took the lead on the final turn, but was not good enough. L0MB0CK rallied late. QUATRE CALL showed nothing. PEP WELL was not hurried during the early stages, responded readily under energetic handling, disposed of RIPPEY and was under only mild urging at the finish. RIPPEY held a commanding lead while setting a good pace and held on better than usual, but was not good enough. KITCHEN POLICE was easily best of the others, but could not wear down the top pair. SOME WHERE, a bit rank while racing with the pace throughout, drifted out badly turning for home, then drew clear under mild pressure. NEW FLAME set the pace, but could not resist the winner. GLAMOUR DUST was always prominently placed, but failed to rally. JANEGRI reached contention in the early stretch and failed to rally thereafter. AZTECA was forwardly placed to midstretch and weakened. MAEQUEL rallied mildly. CHALUPA faltered badly. FLAUGHT set the early pace and tired. CAPE COD showed a dull effort after being unable to outrun FLAUGHT early. FOR GRANTED turned in a poor effort. STINGPRICE refused to break.
