Root Plans Jersey Campaign CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 10. — Tommy Root, who has been quite successful as the trainer of a sizable public stable, stated here today that he will campaign his unit in New Jersey after the close of the Kentucky season. George Schneiders George Gains, quick four-year-old son of He Did and Fond Memories, won the eighty-fifth running of the Phoenix Handicap at the recent Keeneland meeting and also accounted for the Brown Hotel Handicap here on Derby day, and he is the star of the Root conditioning string. The Root stables first stop in Jersey will be at Atlantic City.
