ADMIRALS CALL was steadied along with a comfortable lead, saved ground entering the stretch and held on gamely when pressed by GRAY DAME. The latter moved abreast the leader turning into the stretch and raced on even terms to the final yards, then faltered. YAREBOY, well up from the beginning, had no excuse. HORN TOOTER, slow to settle in best stride, made up ground when set down. BREAK IT UP escaped trouble on the first turn and raced close to the pace in the backstretch, then weakened. SHOE LACE was not good enough. SCOTCH DOUBLE suffered interference on the first turn and never recovered. JOEY S. went evenly and broke down after the finish. COMETS TAIL quit. WHEEL PLAYER, well handled, was sent up on the outside to challenge the leaders, responded to stout urging and drew out in the final sixteenth. BE PROUD forced the pace from the beginning, assumed a short lead into the stretch and held on gamely. LA MORENITA, slow to settle in best stride, closed stoutly. ELLENS GIFT broke alertly, was unable to run with the leaders and moved threateningly nearing the far turn, then flattened out. AIR DAME was rushed up on the inside to gain command early, held sway under light urging, saved ground into the stretch, then weakened. RINGOLETTE was never a serious factor. RUM RUNNER was unable to keep up. DASHAWAY raced very wide on the final turn. LEBANON was outrun. Overweight— Air Dame, 2 pounds; Dashaway, 3; Lebanon, 3. FOXY NETTIE, in hand while close up, moved up on the outside to engage HAPPY LARK nearing the furlong pole, rallied readily and drew out with speed in reserve. SANGONE, knocked back at the start, was allowed to settle in best stride, came between horses while improving position and finished stoutly. HAPPY LARK disposed of ACKLEY in the first quarter, drew clear and held on gamely when challenged on the final turn, then faltered. LONGTIDE was well up on the outside and had no excuse. CECROPS went evenly. SOME BID broke alertly, was under pressure to maintain position, then dropped back. MIGUELITO showed nothing. ACKLEY retired steadily. HYGROS GINGER, reserved off the early pace, moved past BRAS TEDDY to gain command when ready and was under steady pressure to hold WINDHOVER safe. The latter improved position gradually, was steered to the outside of horses on the turn, then responded to press the winner in the late stages. BRAS TEDDY had good speed in setting the pace, saved ground and held on gamely until the final sixteenth, then faltered. EBR0, slow to settle in stride, finished with a rush. BELCO rallied mildly in the late stages SUNSHADE showed a poor effort. CAROLINE F. was never a serious factor. LUNCH DATE weakened. LA AFRICANA had speed for a half mile. IRISH COUNT quit badly. HYHUSTLE moved with a rush on the outside, but was unable to reach the leaders. FLAG DRILL lacked early speed and was unable to make up appreciable ground when set down. DINNER PARTY, not hustled for six furlongs, worked way up gradually leaving the backstretch, continued to gain while straightening out for the drive, responded to stout pressure and wore down the leaders in the last strides. WEATHERCOCK, for-wardly placed, engaged MAGELLAN for command nearing the furlong pole, but was unable to hold the winner. MAGELLAN, under stout restraint while close up, rallied when set down, disposed of BEL REIGH, but faltered near the end. FLOAT ME, well up for three-quarters, made a game bid on the far turn, then flattened out. MR. CHAIRMAN, slow to settle in best stride, moved into contention nearing the furlong pole, but lacked late speed. BEL REIGH weakened. SCOTTSVILLE flattened out when set down. FEARLESS, -reserved back of the leaders to the far turn, was steered around tiring horses, came between horses when straightened for the drive, engaged the leader leaving the furlong pole and outfinished TED WES. The latter forced the early pace, remained in hand to midway on the final turn, went to the outside of HAGGERTY to assume command, fought it out bitterly with the winner, hut faltered in the final yards. HAGGERTY set the pace under steadying restraint, was roused when challenged leaving the backstretch, held position until straightened in the stretch, then weakened. VALDIVIA moved with a rush when set down, then failed to respond in the drive. TURNTABLE was outrun. FLOURTOWN quit badly. Scratched— 22639 Broad Daylight, 111. Overweight— Ted Wes, 1 pound.
