Maywood Park Harness Meet Gets Under Way Tonight MAYWOOD PARK, Maywood, HI., May 10. — Night harness racing with pari-mutuel betting returns to Chicagos sports calendar Monday night when Maywood Park opens its second annual meeting at its half-mile plant, North Avenue and River Road. Post time for the first of eight races on the inaugural program is 8:15 p. m. With an assist from the weatherman, Maywood Park officials believe attendance will exceed the record of 11,320 who saw the modern presentation of the sulky sport on opening night last year. Maywood Park divided its 1946 meet into spring and fall sessions, but this season will operate for 60 consecutive nights, excluding Sundays, and will conclude on July 19. The spotlight will be turned on pacers for the opener. The program will be headed by the Inaugural Pace, which will be raced at nine-sixteenths of a mile and one mile and one-sixteenth. The event drew 19 nominations, but 13 will go to the post, including Puzzette, five-year-old mare owned by Mrs. Forrest Burright, 63-year-old Oregon, HI., grandmother, who campaigned successfully at Maywood Park last year.
