Attendance Up, Play Down . CHRCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 19. — Attendance increased, but the mutuel play declined at the nineteen-day meeting at Churchill Downs, which ended Saturday. It was estimated that a total of 350,000 persons passed through the gates this year, 10,000 more than the estimated attendance one year ago. The total mutuel pool was 4,259,901, as against 7,010,629 in 1946, a difference of ,750,728.
