TOPIC improved his position steadily, was sent around on the outside for the drive and, finishing fast, drew clear. NONCHALANTA lacked speed to match the early leaders, saved ground and closed gamely under hard urging. BEAN POT was forwardly placed from the beginning, made a stout bid in the stretch and held on well. SILVER STYLE raced evenly and forwardly in a good effort. GREAT RIPPLE had speed to take command on the far turn, then drew clear, but weakened. PHANTOM SON finished with a rush after lacking early speed. STE. FRANCES could not engage the leaders. KHAMSEENS BOY was outrun early and made up some ground in the stretch. MIA MARIA could not keep up and quit badly. SHREWLA had good early speed while racing with the pace, was steadied with the leaders while between horses on the turn and drew out in the stretch, but was under pressure at the end. GOLD PROXY had speed from the beginning, took a brief lead on the turn while saving ground, swung out slightly entering the stretch, then came on again at the end LITTLE HARE was sent into contention at once from a slow beginning, went around on the outside for the drive and finished well. LITTLE SNAIL raced evenly and forwardly, but could not engage the leaders BILLIES CHOICE lacked early speed, but made up some ground in the late stages. MISS TEXAS was unable to improve her position. HATTIE STAR, slow to find her best speed, made up some ground but was not dangerous. TRUE TIME was unable to offer serious contention. LITECO, much the best, was steadied within reach of the early leaders, went to the front readily when shaken up and drew clear to win easily CASA LIBRE trailed the field early, moved up with a rush through the stretch, but was no match for the winner. EXPECTATION was hustled into a clear lead afd drew out on the turn, but weakened when challenged. BIG A. raced evenly and forwardly, but was unable to improve his position. GALLOWAY, much the best, was not hurried as he trailed the field to the far turn, moved around on the outside readily when roused, was carried out on the stretch turn by DUCK BERRY, then drew out to win easily. DUCK BERRY was a forward factor from the beginning, swung wide entering the stretch, taking the winner out and was no match for GALLOWAY, but was easily best of the others. LAST STRIDE was hustled into command at once, drew clear on the turn and saved ground, but flattened out. FLYING BEN flashed early speed, but quit. GLAEMEL was outrun. Overweight— Glaemel, 2J pounds. BULLSEL was not hurried early when far back, moved up quickly when roused to go around the field on the final turn, took command and continued clear under pressure. SICKLE SUN raced closest to the pace from the beginning, swerved in the stretch when placed to pressure and held on stubbornly. GENIES MATE was sent to the front at once, was rated there while saving ground, but weakened. SEAPAR raced evenly, but could not threaten. LIGHT REIGH trailed far back and passed tired horses. SUNRID was held under stout restraint within reach of the leaders, responded well when roused to dispose of MY GRACE in the stretch, -then drew out to win easily. MONTREE trailed early as usual, moved into closer contention on the outside on the final turn, closed gamely, but was no match for the winner. GIN AND IT lacked early speed, secured room on the inside entering the stretch and finished well. CAROLINA BELL raced evenly and held on well. MY GRACE was sent to the front on the backstretch, drew clear, saved ground, but weakened. GOOD MESSAGE flashed early speed but could not keep up. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-8 MILES. DIZZY HEIGHTS, never far back, raced evenly, but could not engage the leaders. ROY H. S. moved into closer contention and made a stout bid on the final turn and through the stretch, but weakened. TACOMA closed some ground from a slow beginning. MILKYM00N could not threaten. DADS could not keep up. Overweight— One Hook, 2 pounds. Attendance, 13,128; Total Mutuel Pool, 42,007.
