LUCKY MICKY remained close to the pace in the early running and although going wide in the stretch he gained gradually to get up in the final strides. GOINGHERWAY was unable to draw clear of CISQUA in the first part and was headed by the latter hearing the stretch turn, but again took a short lead in the last furlong and went well to the finish. CISQUA showed good foot in the going and held on well. BLUE DAZZLER went evenly. WAR BLUES made up ground on the outside. SIR DAVID had some early foot. BETTER VAIN and ROUGH PENNY were away poorly. RIPPLING HIT, never far back saved ground on the last turn when the early leaders went wide, drifted out nearing the end, but held EYEFUL STAR safe. The latter made a good move entering the stretch to take a short lead, but was bothered when the winner came out near the end. Her rider claimed a foul against RIPPLING HIT. but it was not allowed. AUGUST FOLLY made the pace, but raced wide on the stretch turn. SCOTCH WINE was close up early and would have been a strong contender but for racing to the outside fence on the last turn. OPTION raced with RAZZMATAZZ for a .quarter, drew away from the latter, then was challenged by THIRD ACE on the stretch turn, but shook him off in the final furlong and won by a handy margin. RAZZMATAZZ raced on the inside early, came to the outside of the leaders nearing the stretch turn, then raced wide, but finished courageously and was gaining slightly. MISS LYONORS joined PRETTY JO in making the early pace, drew away frcm the latter rounding the stretch turn, went steadily to the end and was never seriously threatened. BROOKTOWN was a forward factor throughout «nd might have been a threat had she not shown an inclination to bear out in the stretch. COLONY MISS lacked early speed, but was racing well at the finish. ON THE FLY was unable to keep up and failed to threaten. DEBDEB was at a disadvantage en the outside. EAST INDIES, moving to the front at once and well rated while holding a narrow lead in the first six furlongs, raced a trifle wide on the stretch turn and won drawing away after being straightened. BUSANDA, forced to ease back soon after the start, saved ground on the first turn and attempted to find an opening next to the rail at the far turn, but had to be taken back when in close quarters, then continued next to the rail for the remainder of the trip and was best of the others. THIRTY LOVE made up ground on the outside in the last half mile. EVEN LATER was used up racing with the pace and weakened after going wide on the last turn. CURTAIN RAISER raced closest to STARECASE in the early stages, saved ground when the latter went wide on the last turn, took a good lead entering the final sixteenth and had little trouble holding ADMIRAL DRAKE safe. The latter made a good move on the outside after leaving the backstretch, responded to urging in the stretch run and finished well. STARECASE opened up a good early lead, but lost much ground on the stretch turn and was taken in hand in the last twenty yards when beaten. SAILORS CHOICE was in rather tight quarters rounding the far turn and failed to threaten. FLEET VIXEN raced on equal terms with COMBATORE for about six furlongs then drew out when ready and was never in danger thereafter. OUR TOMMY improved his position in the middle of the track when called upon and went well to the end. POISON ARROW lacked early speed but plodded along to pick up the tiring COMBATORE in the stretch. COMBATORE was through after going seven furlongs. FERTILE LANDS did not seem to like the going and failed to be a serious factor being beaten off at the end. EASY CHOP was outpaced for six furlongs, then made a good move on the outside nearing the stretch turn, was forced very wide on the bend, but wore down FREE VERSE and won going away under hard urging. FREE VERSE was close to BIRD RING in the early running, took command when the latter began to tire on the stretch turn and was unable to resist the winner. ZERO was well placed early, but failed to threaten. WRAGGLE-TAGGLE was going fairly well at the end. EYEWIN and BIRD RING stopped badly in the stretch.
