Senators Sign Joe Di Maggio But Hes No Yankee Clipper WASHINGTON. D. C, May 13 UP.— Bartolo Joe Dimaggio, 19-year-old relative of the New York Yankees Joe DiMaggio, has been signed by the Washington Senators and sent to their Charlotte, N. C, farm club. Like the Yankee clipper, Bartolo Joe is a big, right-handed hitting outfielder. Hes a six-footer, weighs 190 pounds and hails from Monterey, Calif. . Washington signed him after one of their scouts saw him working out at a Peekskill, N. Y., baseball school. He reported to Charlotte, but may have been optioned to its Concord, N. C, team in the North Carolina State League.
