ROYAL MUSTANG broke quickly from an outer position, raced strongly from the start, then swerved in the last sixteenth and interfered with AIR ROCKET, drew away and won in handy fashion, but was disqualified and placed last AIR ROCKET raced forwardly from the outset, contested the issue with ROYAL MUSTANG, but dropped well back of the latter after being bothered by him. BOB BROWN made a determined move nearing the final furlong, but was not good enough. TRINITY PLACE drooped back near the end. FORTNIGHT was going fairly well at the finish. Scratched— Officious, 117. SAMS LIST was never far away and, although losing ground in racing wide throughout, finished steadily in the middle of the track to catch ETERNAL PAM in the final twenty yards and won drawing uot ETERNAL PAM, a strong contender from the start, took over as the leader when LIBRAB weakened in the stretch, but faltered near the finish. LIBRAB displayed fair speed in pacemaking and weakened in the last eighth. TUNIC was in rather tight quarters nearing the stretch turn and failed to threaten. FAVORITO was forced very wide on the stretch tum, but came steadily as if much. the best to take command entering the last furlong and drew away nearing the end. LETS DANCE saved ground all the way and loomed as a possible winner entering the stretch, then weakened, but was not threatened by the others. MAID OF OZ displayed good early speed, bore out on the stretch turn, then raced fairly well thereafter. EVAS TOY loomed up nearing the stretch tum, but lost ground on the bend. BONER went to the front at once, raced as if easily best, was never seriously threatened for the leadership and won with speed in reserve. DESTINO saved ground throughout to tum in a good effort, but seemed overmatched against the winner. AUTUMN SNEEZE was off slowly, then improved his position in the stretch while passing weakening horses. EMERGENCY HOUR -was close enough early, but raced a trifle wide and weakened. HYVANIA was unable to keep up and failed to threaten. HILL PRINCE began rather slowly, made a steady move nearing the half-mile ground and, getting through on the inside, of MIDDLEGROUND nearing the stretch turn, cut to the rail after heading FERD to take a short lead that he increased entering the final furlong and was not in serious danger thereafter. MIDDLEGROUND was well placed early, lost ground on the stretch turn when his rider permitted HILL PRINCE to come through-on the inside .and, racing wide through the stretch, was unable to get up, although finishing steadily. FERD was saved back of MARYLAND DAY for the first half mile, then went to the front and raced on the inside thereafter, but was no match for the first two. GREEK SONG failed to threaten the first three, but was too good for the others. EROSION outclassed SULEIMAN and. MARYLAND DAY in the stretch drive. WYNFORD II., close up on the outside in the early running, continued well out from the rail for the remainder ofjhe trip, but wore down LOYAL LEGION in the last quarter to win under mild pressure. LOYAL LEGION went to the front early and, after crowding the field on the far turn and causing ONE HITTER to take up, saved ground in the stretch to go fairly well to the end, but was disqualified for interference and placed last DART BY was in a tight quarters on the far tum and dropped back in the stretch. ONE HITTER dropped to the last place after breaking well and, continuing on the rail, had reached a forward position when he was forced off stride and practically , eliminated, then raced wide thereafter. FLYING WEATHER broke quickly and showed good early speed, raced on practically even terms with MR. JAY for the entire distance and won narrowly. MR. JAY showed good speed, finished strongly and just missed. RAZZMATAZZ was outrun early, but made up some ground in the stretch and closed well.
