Olympic Walking Champ Dies NEW YORK, N. Y., May 14 UP. — Ernest Weber, 42, former National AAU walking champion at several distances, died Saturday of a kidney ailment at the Gotham Hospital. Weber was a member of the United States Olympia team two years ago and as a member of the German-American, A. C, won the 3,000 meter walk in 1946 and 47; the 10-kilometer walk and the seven-mile walk in 1946, and the 20-kilometer walk In 1947 and the 25-kilometer walk in 1948.
