Y.. April 30. I. 1 — Aubrey Rodney will try to pull the hat t trick at Saratoga Raceway this year. Like e i the hockey player going after three goals. :. I the veteran harness racing driver will 1 i shoot for three driving crowns — spring, , t summer and fall. s Already a large nominator for the spring r r and summer meetings, Rodney was an- nounced today as the largest contributor r t to a record entry for the 42 early-closing r t events of the Soa fall trots. He made 67 t nominations on 19 members of his big pub- - £ lie stable. In all, racing secretary Frank Woodland i v received 1,608 nominations for the fall fea- - s tures which will be worth an all-time high 1 a a of 4600. The nominations represented [ n 475 individual horses and gave each event t an average of 38 entries. These figures ; "V completely eclipsed the records set by the ; a fall program of last year when 34 events ; t drew 921 nominations, 330 horses and an 1 a average entry of 27. il it There was an interesting fact behind 1 Rodneys entry. The Saratoga Springs 1 ft reinsman has won the summer champion- c ship at the Raceway for the last five years, , tl but he has never won a fall title.
