Balzaretti Suffers Fractures GARDEN STATE PARK. Camden, N. J., April 30. — Jockey William Balzaretti has been advised that he suffered fractures of the hip and pelvis bones when thrown back in the starting gate by Officious prior to the beginning of the sixth race here on Saturday, in which the F. W. Hooper racer was ordered withdrawn by the track veterinarian. Balzaretti was not immediately aware of his injuries and gamely remounted to fulfill his engagement, but then found that he was not in condition. Examinations held at Cooper Hospital in Camden, N. J., indicate that he will be confined to his bed for five or six weeks.
