b J ■ *• ■ ■ ■ " - Fanfare Speeds Six Furlongs In 1:11 y5 in Drill at Downs CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., April 30. — Calumet Farms Fanfare visited the Derby strip Sunday morning and stepped six furlongs in 1:11% while under light restraint. The lone Derby eligible be- ing prepped by Ben A. Jones was timed the first half mile over the fast track in :46. Spur On, representative of the George Gerber unit, took to the track and reeled off a mile in l:40ys. Fractions were :4925. and 1:1425. J. J. Amiels Count Turf was called upon for a half mile speed trial and traversed his assignment in :4735. Mrs. Nora A. Mikells Repetoire, undefeated during his three-year-old season, breezed three furlongs in :3633. King Ranchs Sonic worked five furlongs in 1 : 04 in most handy fashion.
