SOME BID gave way momentarily 1 to FLARES DURBAR after a half mile, regained command on the far turn and held sway thereafter when J placed to brisk urging. DANADA RED, probably best, stumbled leaving the gate, was rushed into contention I between horses, responded willingly entering the stretch and closed willingly. MOON BABY failed to make up appreciable ground when hard ridden through the late stages. BUDS PRIDE failed to respond when roused i for the drive. GLORYS CHANCE passed tiring horses. DUSTLIGHT had a rough trip. KINDLY MISS was s outrun. FLARES DURBAR was much used early and had little left. DARE HE IS showed nothing. Scratched— 20309 Major Nick, 116; 27253 Canina Sis, 106. IRVINGTON, far back early, improved his position on the outside and d closed resolutely to be best of the others. JUDY BOY made up some ground when called upon for his best t efforts. WAR SHAM rallied too late to seriously endanger the leaders. J-LINC tired under punishment. LADY i BETTIS and JUST STOP never were dangerous. WHIRL DANCER retired steadily after showing brief speed. i OCEAN QUEEN, FRACTIOUS DURING THE POST PARADE, RAN OFF SIX FURLONGS AND WAS DECLARED 0 SCRATCHED BY THE STEWARDS. HENRYS FIRST, within striking distance of the early leaders while between horses, finished d . with good courage. JOHNS FOLLY had no apparent excuse. GOYONDER tired. COAL HEAT quit. BAD D RACK, forced to take up sharply after the start, failed to recover. AMAFOX was outrun. TEXAS COIN N began alertly, but failed to stay. LOFTINESS raced wide. CHESHIRE CAT, under light restraint during the early stages, took command midway of the final furlong and, in a long drive, held ARABIA safe. The latter worked her way forward on the outside after being outrun early and finished with good courage. POINSETTE held a clear lead nearing the furlong marker, tired badly during the concluding strides and could not withstand the top one. PHAROS BROTHER was compelled to take the complete overland route when making his belated stretch bid. WINDCLIFF closed a gap. HASTY BID failed to attain the lead and quit. LEASE HOUND was outrun.
