MISLEAD broke alertly, was steadied close behind the pace until straightened for the drive, assumed command and drew out easily. IRMAS JIM was well placed on the outside, came to the inside for the drive and closed with good energy PLAYANNA showed a good effort despite being forced to lose ground. KHARTOUM, well placed, lacked a late rally STILL CHAMP parsed tiring horses. RIVER B0YNE tired near the end. LT BILL showed good speed for a half mile before tirina. PICKPOCKET tired. VIRGINIA R. Won driving; second and third the same GUNNING ISLAND had good speed in forcing the pace, moved into command entering the stretch and was hard ridden to hold DARE HOPE safe. The latter moved rapidly between horses, came to the inside for the stretch run, caught the leader and hung. RAMPAGEOUS was forced to lose ground on the extreme outside. LADY PATRICIA lacked acing room until the final furlong. MISS GADFLY bullied her way into early contention, was eased back and sent between horses in the stretch, but was not good enough. DEBONAIRE quit after five furlongs ESTA VEZ was in close quarters most of the trip. CHALTRICK assumed command soon after the start, was in hand while maintaining a clear advantage on the turns and increased margin without pressure in the stretch. MOCHA rushed up boldly to force the early pace and held on gamely to the end. LONG HILL raced close to the pace, made a brief challenge entering the stretch then flattened out. BILL DYER responded under steady pressure leaving, the backstretch, bore in slightly in the late stages, was taken out and around HEAVENLY TUNE to gain the nod. HEAVENLY TUNE, in hand while following close to the pace rallied to assume :ommand and faltered. FIVE PASSES came between horses to challenge, then tired MISTFLOWER closed stoutly from well off the pace. B TWO lacked early speed. MIDNIGHT ROSE showed good speed for five Furlongs and tired. GALEDO opened a comfortable ead soon after the start, was kept close to the inside rail on the turns and smartly ridden out to hold off the late challenges of KNIGHTS KNAVE and ROUGH COOKIE. KNIGHTS KNAVE was sent inside leaving the backstretch cut the leaders margin, but was not good enough. ROUGH COOKIE, slow to settle into best stride, closed with a belated rush on the extreme outside. LUCKY MICKY showed nothing JADE LAD was outrun. JAL, sluggish in the early stages responded stoutly when placed under pressure, secured racing room on the inside to get the lead and withstood sustained challenge of LORD BALTIMORE. The latter, eased back off lead, remained closed up along rail came out on the final bend allowing winner racing room, then pressed to the end. DARING MATE was well placed on the outs.de of the leaders, lacked a closing rally. LITECO set the pace for six furlongs and held on well after giving way. BOBS ACE passed tiring horses.
