I J i Locke Enters U. S. Open NEW YORK, N. Y., May 14 UP.— British Open Champion Bobby Locke, of South Africa, was a surprise entrant today in the U. S. Open Golf Championship, scheduled at Birmingham, Mich., June 14-16. It will be Lockes third try at the title and his first since he tied for fourth in 1949. The U. S. Golf Association re-. ported a total of 714 entries, about half the expected total, had been filed so far with only a week to go before the deadline, May 21.
