CONTROL broke sluggishly, was forced to race wide while improving position, took command in the stretch and won with something left. LANDLORD lacked speed, then lost ground while moving up between horses. GAY SONG was well placed from the outset and had no mishaps. HALCYARA lacked room between horses on the backstretch. TIGER TRAP lacked a closing rally. FERTILE LANDS lest ground throughout and swerved entering the stretch. PENNANT DAY tired. YOUR SUN lacked room on the inside. WATCH UNION, knocked back early, went up on the inside when clear and tired. UNDER THE RUG quit after showing early speed. CACIQUE made the pace in the opening furlong, regained command when FIRST GLANCE began to bear out on the turn and increased his advantage under mild encouragement. ALPHABETICAL, never far back, closed well but could not menace the winner. FIRST GLANCE broke slowest, was hustled along to reach the lead and bore out leaving the turn when tiring. SKY POWER had no excuse. AMERICAN GLORY raced wide much of the way and came out of the race slightly lame. BARRAGE quit. Scratched— 27961 Newsweekly, 118; 20668 Harpes, 118. FLYING WING brushed with BANNER WAVES after the third jump, was in close attendance of the leader en the outside, was bothered and forced wide approaching the final jump and drew out under punishement. MY GOOD MAN, sent into command from the inside, ran wide leaving the final turn and tired in the late stages. HAMPTON ROADS, never far back, was knocked back approaching the final jump when MY GOOD MAN came out. BAND LEADER tired after racing forwardly early. BANNER WAVES bobbled at the eighth jump.
