EVER BRIGHT was hustled to the front early, crowded FINE FIDDLE leaving the backstretch, continued willingly when kept to the inside for the drive and increased her advantage during the final furlong. TIS JOE, never far back, finished determinedly under strong handling, but could not get to the winner. FINE FIDDLE began fast, was in close quarters nearing the three-furlong pole, raced well when clear, but faltered slightly during the last sixteenth. TEXAS COIN saved ground throughout and failed to rally when set down for the drive. TOMMY ALAN was outrun. SIR RUSTOM raced wide. SLAM AHEAD could not keep up. LICTOR, away poorly, was hustled to reach serious contention after the start, improved position steadily under brisk urging and, after attaining command during the stretch run, was going away. CRACK REWARD, much used racing MARLTOWN into defeat, continued determinedly when set down in the drive but could not withstand the winner, although much the best of the others. LEAVENWORTH, away slowly, gradually worked his way forward but could not reach the leaders. BRASSY LIE, on the inside throughout, tired during the stretch run. VINITA MAJOR was outrun. MARLTOWN assumed command at once, made the pace until near the stretch under pressure from CRACK REWARD, but had nothing left for the drive. BEAU NASH was never prominent. FAIRANFIT raced wide. MOON MIAMI, forwardly placed from the outset, closed willingly under punishment, but could not threaten the winner. SAND FLY, on the outside throughout, could not better his position when set down through the stretch. BY DEGREES dropped back after beginning alertly, then steadily bettered her position, but could not reach serious contention. BRIARS RED raced wide the entire trip. ENGLATERROR began sluggishly. NIGHTMARISH raced evenly for a half mile, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and closed gamely, but could not reach the top one. BIDANDMADE forced GREY MIKES pace to the stretch, then faltered. CARDINAL LADY lacked early speed, but closed willingly when sent to the inside for the drive. HUMPHREY tired after showing early foot. COCK FEATHER, never far back and saving ground, remained next to the inner rail for the stretch run and, responding to punishment, wore down the leaders and lasted to withstand HOT CHOCOLATE. The latter worked way forward steadily, was sent to the middle of the track for the drive and finished fast in a good effort. BONRILLA, hustled along while racing with MOOLA to the stretch, reached the lead when settled for the drive, but faltered near the finish. JIMPIN lacked early speed, but finished fast. WEEP NO MORE raced evenly and had no mishap. ALUN began slowly. MOOLA went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch while engaging BONRILLA, then weakened. LUCKY DOG could not keep up. MERRIEST was outrun. BOOTS BEST tired. CONVALESCENT, roughed immediately after the start, failed to recover. HOOSIER LAD was through early. Scratched-281 623 Doctor L.
