VIRGINIA GENT, slow to settle into best stride, improved his position steadily after a half mile, wore down the leader in the late stretch and withstood the drive of BEACH CHIEF. The latter trailed early, circled the entire field and was getting to the top one. LUCY BELLE was driven through along the inside to attain command early, set the pace under good rating, but was unable to retain the lead. FOUR WEST made up ground steadily. RAPT lacked a menacing rally. MOON BOY held a formidable position and faltered through the stretch. OHIO BOY was through early, as was BARBY BET. ROUNDELAY dueled for the lead and was knocked into the fence and taken up sharply when BEE A. H. lugged in badly. H. A KELLER came from far back in a good effort. BAY ORDERS was close enough after a half mile, but failed to respond WESTOVER GAL weakened. STUNNING was through eaily. TEDDYS LIGHT, in close attendance to the pace from the start, wrested command in the early stretch and was under extreme pressure to gain a narrow advantage over HARBOR QUEEN. The latter rallied from just off the pace to reach the leader nearing the finish, then was deterred slightly when her riders foot came out of the irons. BLOND AND GAY was hard pressed for the lead and weakened only slightly in the drive. BUNNY HUG held a forward position seemed a bit close in the early stretch and failed to rally thereafter. FIGHTING MAD, unhurried while racing with SINGING DOLL early, drew clear when that one faltered and responded to good urging through the final furlong to outfinish KING MOWLEE. The latter was taken up sharply after moving into a switch leaving the backstretch, was sent to the outside and placed to strong pressure, but hung after reaching the leader in early stretch. ALETTA held a favorable position, but could not keep up. SINGING DOLL weakened after being hard pressed for the lead. GUIDED MISSILE failed to respond when roused. Overweight— Aletta, 2 pounds. BOLD gained a clear advantage turning into the backstretch, turned back ALERTEDS initial challenge along the backstretch, then proved better than his rival in the stretch run. VAMANOS, taken back early, circled the field, but could not menace the top one in the final stages. CLEAN BROOM raced with the pace to midway of the turn and weakened MILLDALE raced forwardly placed and faltered. REMEMBRANCE was through after five furlongs.
