Lamplighter to Feature Omaha Twilight Program ProgramSeven Seven WellMatched Claimers In Route Event at AkSarBen AkSarBenBy By ART KENNEDY KENNEDYStaff Staff Correspondent CorrespondentAKSARBEN AKSARBEN Omaha Nebr June 10 Another program of twilight racing will be offered here tomorrow with the featured Lamplighter Purse having double signifi ¬ cance That the name is appropriate to the occasion seems obvious but it also is that of a great horse who raced many decades ago agoOnce Once again the feature has been fash ¬ ioned for routers threeyearolds and up ¬ ward this time in the middlepriced claim ¬ ing bracket The mile and 70 yards event has attracted a field of seven well matched contestants contestantsIt It would be hard to predict the probable favorite but B Fogelsons fiveyearold Bicco has the best record prior to his most recent outing which was also his Omaha debut That race indicated little of the ability which brought him to the winners circle four times this year three times at the Fair Grounds and once at Sportsmans Park where his present owner haltered him himPintail Pintail Sprig from the Mrs E H Beez ley stable has shown speed in better com ¬ pany than he meets tomorrow although failing to score thus far in the new racing season His most recent effort was in a mile and onesixteenth affair won by Brill gal when he was with the pace for seven furlongs then tired tiredTrarab Trarab A C Sipes sixyearold made his first start of the year here last week in a sixfurlong event which on the basis of last years form suited him less than would have a longer distance He was slow to get moving but once in full stride he ate up the field to finish a fastclosing third That race should have primed him for his best bestBlack Black Battle from the Loveland Stable performed in far duller fashion last out than his previous race here forecast While it was only six furlongs he failed to show anything like the speed which carried him around horses on the turn to be second to
