Set Up Hospjtal for 111 Injured Horses in Jersey JerseyChasmar Chasmar Farm Staffed by Vets Exercise Boys Rubbers Etc EtcSPRING SPRING LAKE N J June 10 A hos ¬ pital and convalescent home for ill or in ¬ jured horses has been added to the services now available to ithe more than 50 thor ¬ oughbred farms comprising the thorough ¬ bred horse breeding industry in the state of New Jersey JerseyIt It is Chasmar Farm located here on Route 35 within a radius of 70 miles from New York City and New Jersey tracks and in the heart of the breeding farm district in New Jersey The name is derived from those of Charles L Sabatini Teaneck in ¬ dustrialist and his wife Margaret MargaretTheir Their interest in thoroughbreds began several years ago when they raced a small stable with moderate success They pur chased the farm after their experience con ¬ vinced them that there was need for a completely equipped modern hospital and convalescent home of horses in the state stateThe The main barn at Chasmar Farm is 240 feet long and 60 feet wide with 34 individ ¬ ual stalls The barn is built of solid cedar wood has screens for all doors large out ¬ side awnings and is well ventilated It has aerated moistureproof storage lofts hot and cold water and circulating air equip ¬ ment Examining stalls isolation stalls guest lounge tack room and general offices also buildingThe are housed in the main building The hospital will be staffed by a chief veterinarian assistant vet internes exer ¬ cise boys rubbers and other employes Other veterinarians may use the hospital equipment for operations and then instruct the staff in the treatments to be given the thoroughbred patients during their absence absenceFacilities Facilities also are available for rest and rebuilding tired or worn down thorough ¬ breds indoor and outdoor training and breeding Accommodations also are at hand for foaled mares maresChasmar Chasmar has 11 twoacrepaddocks with quality forage in scientifically treated soil Tested well water is obtainable in each paddock and each paddock has been pro ¬ vided with shade A light training track of onethird of a mile is provided as well as a smaller one for training yearlings Both have been specially processed and are free of all debris stones holes or soft spots
