i Stewards Word Is Final On Any Phase of Race CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 6.: — Three Tiey men here are the stewards. Their word is final on any phase of the running. These stewards are Sam H. McMeekin, Jack G. Goode and Jack S. Young. I McMeekin is a former newspaper man] who was graduated to the ranks of turf officials many years ago. He has been senior steward at Churchill Downs for many years. He is an even-tempered, even-mannered, sensible, understanding and exper-| ienced official. ! Goode is the son of the late John M. Goode of .Kentucky, one of Americas best known trainers. The young man literally "grew up" on a racetrack, and while young in years is long on experience. Jack Young, also one of racings best known officials, represents the Kentucky Racing Commission on the board. He serves in New Orleans in the winter, Keeneland in the spring and fall, and this summer was invited to Ak-Sar-Ben in Omaha. ~
