Weidekamp Sees 48th Derby LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 6. — E. A. Weidekamp, manager of the pari-mutuel plant at Churchill Downs, is • preparing for his forty-eighth Derby as an employee of the famous plant. A telephone technician at the time, Weidekamp was called to the track in 1907 to repair a faulty telephone. Churchill Downs liked his work so well, they asked him to join the trackstaff. .
