Souvenirs Always Fashionable CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 6. — Kentucky Derby souvenirs are fashionable at Derby time, and tens of thousands of visitors leave the ancient Downs and Louisville with lasting mementos of the memorable occasion. These souvenirs range all the way from sterling silver horseshoe ash trys to pennants. But of all the different items offered, easily the most popular are the julep glasses offered by the Harry M. Stevens Company. These glasses are sold only at the track, and a customer can obtain one by buying a --julep, retaining the glass. However, for those who do not wish to risk breakage on the trip home, they may be purchased boxed, with Stevens mailing the cartons. Many Derby fans have collections of julep glasses dating back for more than 10 years. The design of the glass is changed every year, but it always has a Derby motif. Most .meautiful of all, perhaps, was the diamond jubilee year, 1949, won by Ponder.
