Late Filing of Churchill Downs Entries Brings Severe Criticism CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 6. — There was severe criticism from newspapers and news services because of the late filling of entries for Saturdays program. Entries for the Derby and Debutante Stakes were ready early, but the complete entries were not ready until 3 oclock. This made it impossible for Eastern afternoon newspapers to publish the entries, while Daily Racing Form canceled its special edition, which is always flown into Louisville and is sold at the track before the conclusion of-Fridays program. Churchill Downs officials have been urged to take entries on Thursday for the Derby program, but have refused to do this despite the fact that many tracks have found this feasible.
