Stewards Rulings CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 6. — The Churchill Downs stewards posted the following rulings, here today: "Jockey Carl Bierman is suspended 1§ days, May 8-May 17, inclusive, for rough riding in the seventh race May 5. "Jockey Robert Permane is suspended 10 days, May 8-May 17, inclusive, for rough riding in the eighth race May 5.,? SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, HI., May 6. — The stewards here today issued the following ruling: "Jockey Harold Keene is suspended for 10 racing days, from May 9 to May 19, inclusive, for rough riding in the fourth race of May 5." GARDE NSTATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 6.— -The stewards here today issued the following ruling: "Jockey Gayle L. Smith is suspended 10 days, May 9 through May 18, for careless riding in the 5th race, May 5, 1955, at Garden State Park." SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 6. — The following ruling was issued by the stewards here tins afternoon: "Jockey Joseph Spinale is suspended 10 racing-days May 7 to May 18, inclusive for interfering with Esplendor in the run thru the stretch in the eighth race, May 5. His mount Super Bug was disqualified and placed second." _ GOLDEN GATE FIELDS, Albany, Calif., May 6. — The board of stewards Thursday handed down the following ruling: "For failure to maintain his proper course during the running of the seventh race May 4, jockey0 Gilbert Hernandez who rode Colonel Cross, is fined the sum of 00." FORT MIAMI, Maumee, Ohio, May C. — The stewards today issued the following ruling: "Jockey A. Monteiro is suspended five racing days for rough riding during the running of the eighth race Wednesday, May 4, at Fort Miami race track, Maumee, Ohio, the suspension to begin May 6. Jockey Monteiro is, however, permitted to fulfill his riding engagement in the handicap race on Saturday, May 7." - FONNER PARK, Grand Island, Nebr., May 6. — The stewards here issued the following ruling today: "For failure to appear in the paddock to saddle his horse, Lady La Vonne, prior to the running of the third race on Wednesday, May 4, 1955, owner-trainer Jack Fickler is fined 5." ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, May 6. — The Ascot Park stewards issued the following ruling here today: "Upon report of the state chemist that the specimen of urine taken from Sainte Odette, winner of the eighth race, May 4, at Ascot Park contained a drug of the nature of amphetamine, a stimulant, in violation of rule 256, -owner and trainer J. W. Mitchell, and all horses owned or trained by him are suspended and his case is referred to the Ohio State Racing Commission. "According to rule 257 — the purse of the eighth race, May 4, 1955, is ordered redistributed as follows: Big Bomber first, Bobs Ace second, Noble Idea third, Signal Way fourth."
