Baltimore Woman Names Colt Latin Lancer and Wins Trip LAUREL, Md., May 6. — In a contest sponsored jointly by Laurel Race Course and the Baltimore News-Post, Mrs. Dorice Seitz of Baltimore won first prize of a trip to Bermuda. The name selected for the two - year - old Phalanx — Roman Matron colt was "Latin Lancer," which has already been approved by The Jockey Club. The colt, a half-brother to both Princess Lygia and Tuscany, is owned by Mrs. S. M. Pistorio and will be conditioned by J. Bowes Bond. Mrs. Seitz won over 25,000 others and was a guest.at luncheon here today, accompanied by her husband. The couple will fly out of New York during July or August on a Pan-American Airway stratocruiser to Bermuda and stay a week at the Castle Harbour Hotel. Other winners were Steve Takos, who received a pair of binoculars for the name Master Phalanx, and Miss Carol Zartman, who won a portable radio for the name Phalanderer. There were also 20 winners of season passes to the Laurel fall meeting. Judges in the. contest were Joseph F. Flanagan, Maryland state steward; Charles McLennan, Laurels racing secretary, and Charles Lamb, racing editor of the News-Post.
