DOUGLAS F., going jp his best form and in the thick of contention in the early racing, wore the leaders down when reaching the home stretch, sprinted into a clear lead, but was tiring at the end and had to be kept under urging. KALOLA challenged stoutly in the last three-eighths, and came gamely when reaching the home stretch. SUN CLOISTER bettered his position on the outside after being slow to settle in his stride, and finished strongly. PLAYFOLE broke slowly and could never reach a forward position. JUSTA TEACHER and ETHAN ALLEN were used up setting the pace. MANUAL broke fast, but could not engage the leaders. LULU LITE was never a factor. PRINCE DRAKE was done early and did not favor the going. BRIGHT DON, hustled into the lead soon after the start, showed good speed and ability in the footing and withstood a stout drive to withstand HOGANS FOX. The latter, raced wide on the inside from the beginning, responded to punishment and held on strongly. WITAN went close up with the leaders and held on gamely after making a strong bid entering the home stretch. ROSS was steered wide and closed full of run. RAYCART moved up stoutly midway of the turn, but failed to rally under punishment when the real issue came. LIEBCHEN was held safe throughout. Scratched 04504 Prosecutor, 105. CANROCK, rushed into contention while on the outside, responded willingly to pressure when straightened into the home stretch, drew on even terms with STARBOROUGH, then outfinished the latter under stiff urging. STARBOROUGH, prominent from the beginning, raced GALLA into defeat and held on determinedly in the closing drive. FREE SPIRIT, unruly at the post, lost considerable ground entering the home stretch, but closed full of run. GALLA was stoutly handled from the beginning, saved ground, but tired in the last eighth. STUMBLE was gaining steadily during the final stages. MASKED BELLE came with a belated rush after being shuffled back soon after the start. DARLING PAT was racing gamely during the stretch run. GIFTED LADY was hurried into the lead when reaching the first turn, raced FAN into submission,-saved ground to open up a winning lead when straightened into the home stretch, then held MASTER LAD safe under light urging. MASTER LAD, steadied along back- of the leaders until reaching the final elbow,-was shaken up vigorously, but could not menace the winner during the closing drive. FAN went strongly for the first three-quarters, then weakened. STATION BELLE was held safe throughout. ONLY FOOL1N was never a factor. MERRY BUD was done after five-eighths. SIMPLE SINGER closed full of run after being messed about early.. HARKY displayed good speed while setting the pace, but tired after saving much ground.
