Little Steve Makes Debut AtMaywood Park Tonight TonightRecent Recent Arrival From Santa Anita Meets Fast Field in Open Trot TrotMAYWOOD MAYWOOD PARK Maywood HI May 2 Little Steve freshly arrived from Santa Anita will make his bow in the Chicago harness racing wars Saturday night at Maywood Park The eightyearold Tactful Guy gelding owned by A D Knapp of Jackson Mich will go against the best trotting talent on the grounds at Maywood in the 2500 divided open trot Little Steve will be driven by Bob Parkinson also making his first appearance of the meeting A sevenhorse field will go a mile in the sixth and ninth races Little Steve will open as second choice to the entry of Fay Spencer and Moses owned by Glen Barker of Chicago Moses will be making its first start of the year tafter training with Jake Mahoneys string at Indianapolis through the winter The tenyearold Fay Spencer recorded the fastest mile of the year for a mare on a halfmile track in winning her last time out in 207 207Elmer Elmer Conrads Arundel Stout a two time winner for the meeting draws the pole position for the first dash and Miss Pemberton starts from the inside in the second mile Miss Pemberton with owner Stanley Adams of Fort Wayne Indin the sulky turned in a surprise victory at 27 to 1 her last start startCompleting Completing the field are freeforall trotter Jeffrey Hanover owned by Monroe Hall Atlanta Ga and Buckie B owned by the Western Furnace Supply Co of Maywood Under Bed Ross handling Buckie B finished an impressive 23 in two dashes against much of this same field last week Miss ShineAMite dash winner of the 4200 Dr Stanton Pace Monday night will try for two in a row in the seventh race an 800 mile event
