Sent to the front before entering the stretch under jockey Alfred Popara*s confident handling, the Wilson colt stepped to the finish of the five furlongs with a three and one-half lengths advantage over his nearest rival, E. W. Fergusons favored Impressed. H. G. Jones Another Page ran third two lengths away while Sunningdale Farms Shawnee Brave saved fourth money slightly less than three lengths further back. Tiger Wander, making his fifth appearance under silks, carried his 117 pounds over the fast track in :59*s, best time of the current meeting for the Linden Purse distance. The Wilson colt was second choice in the tote at 3 to 1 with the crowd of approximately 8,000 spectators out for the sport, a mere handful in comparison to the over 100,000 racing enthusiasts who witnessed the eighty-first Kentucky Derby running here last Saturday. , Jockeys Second Winner Tiger Wander began alertly under Po-i para, who was astride his second successful mount of the matinee. Impressed, however, moved up boldly after the break and leaving the upper turn held a length margin over Shawnee Brave while Tiger Wander occupied third position within striking distance and saving ground. Approaching the stretch Tiger Wander put Impressed away and settled at the furlong pole with a length and one-half to spare, then drew clear to win with some- thing left. Impressed continued determinedly to best the others and Another Page was along for third and not under stern pressure to hold the tiring Shawnee Brave for that portion of the spoils. N. A. McMaster, who recently took over the training of the Wilson horses saddled his first winner for the Lone Star State-owned establishment when Tiger Wander graduated so impressively. Jockey Johnny Ralph Adams posted a saddle double hustling Daniel Clairs Rambling Star home first in the five-furlong Cherokee Park Purse, which matched eight youngsters, after he captured the three-quarters mile fifth astride Joe Hard-wicks Vandanell, best of the eight platers meeting in the latter sprint. Rambling Star was under strong handling during the stretch run to garner a two-lengths decision over Thomas Wes-tropes Partner Tim while W. C. Gillens Mr. Lampasas ran third. Two lengths separated the leaders and Mr. Lampasas a similar distance away for the show. Rambling Star, a son of Alorter and . Starview, completed his jaunt in 1:01 3and and paid .20 straight mutuel.
