RIPPLING raced in closest pursuit of the leaders, lost ground at the head of the stretch, but had enough left to hold FLEUR-DE-LIS safe. The latter, outrun early, moved up on the inside entering the stretch, but was unable to get to the leaders. The others were never prominent. Hl/MISF.U SIDE lost his rider at the start. FAIR ORB, kept under urging all the way, out-gamed the tiring PBEI-EIMCEP at the end. The latter moved into contention with a loss of ground, made a determined effort to get to the leader and faltered from the early efforts. DONCRU ran well KINCON raced wide.
