OWNERS PROTEST CLAIM LATOXIA, Ky., June 27.— Polk Laffoon and Henry C. Yeiser, Jr., former owners of the filly Lady Gossip, today filed a protest of the claiming of that filly from them by Mrs. J. L. Brannon on June 18. In a letter to the stewards, Messrs. Laffoon and Yeiser stated that they believed the claim, which was allowed, was not made out in accordance with the rules and ask that the claim be set aside and the horse, together with its earnings since the time of the claim, be returned to them. The stewards immediately inaugurated a thorough investigation of the transaction.
