The horse is an intended starter in the ,500 added money American National Handicap, the opening days stake feature. Jockey Kenneth Hoffman will ride the gelding in that important engagement. Jack Baker has notified the Arlington management that he had arranged to leave Latonia today with a carload of the R. S. Clark horses for Arlington Park. This division will include Wisdom, an intended starter in the opening days feature race. Following the close at Latonia, Harry Sala-din, assistant trainer, will bring the other of the stables horses to the local course. John J. McFarland of Chicago will be in charge of policing Arlington Park during the meeting. For twenty years, under the direction of the late William Pinkerton, McFarland passed through that great school of experience that has fitted him so admirably for the post to which he has been appointed. Trainer T. H. McCreery apprised the management that he was shipping from New York to Arlington J. F. Byers crack five-year-old Son o Battle, together with several other horses. Son o Battle is by Man o War — Batonica, and is an eligible to the Stars and Stripes and Arlington Handicaps. Chicago sports editors and turf writers will be entertained by the American National Jockey Club at a dinner at Arlington Park Sunday next. After the dinner, the scribes will inspect the plant and the new Post and Paddock club house. The E. B. McLean colors will be carried in the American National Handicap, the opening days feature, by the speedy three-year-old Silverdale. The stables main division will be transferred from Latonia to the local track in a few days. The McLean stable is no stranger to Arlington Park, for its colors were carried to victory there last year in the American Derby by Toro, which beat Misstep and others. Max Hirsch is due to reach Arlington Friday morning from New York with twelve good horses. Among the number is E. M. Byers crack three-year-old Click, an intended starter in the opening days feature race. W. E. Caskey, Jr., former president of the Thoroughbred Horse Association, arrived from Canada with his stable, which includes William T.. an aspirant for honors in the Stars and Stripes Handicap. George H. Doll, manager of the Arlington mutuel department, has notified all employes of his department to report at Arlington Park, Sunday, at 11 a. m., daylight saving time. The train leaving over the C. and N. W. at 9 :30 Sunday morning will stop at the track. The stables of Jack Keene and J. C. Milam, two of the largest strings racing at Fair-mount, are due to leave that track for Arlington Friday morning. Nellie Custis, three-year-old filly by Sir Barton — Miss Minerva, which will carry the colors of the Audley Farm stable in the American National Handicap, opening day, reached Arlington Park Wednesday with s.x others of the stables horses. They came in charge of "Terry" OMalley, who reported that the owners of the stables horses now at Latonia would be brought here by trainer Kay Spence, following the close of that meeting. The stable of Willis Sharpe Kilmer, Jn charge of trainer Andy Blakely, has arrived at Arlington from Aqueduct. The establishment embraces a number of eligibles to the Stars and Stripes and also Sun Hatter, the Kilmer candidate for the American Classic. Jockey Pete Walls is coming from New York with the stable that Max Hirsch will campaign at Arlington and will ride for that I noted trainer.
