| $ Fairmount Park Sold — R. S. Eddy, Jr. and His Associates New Owners • • Fairmount Park, the mile track located near Collinsville, 111., and ten miles from St. Louis, Mo., which held its inaugural meeting in Septembr, 1925, has been sold. Transfer of the property to new ownership may be consummated Friday, when control will be turned over to Rt. S. Eddy, Jr., and associates. The negotiations for the majority of stock have been on for several days, and while terms were agreed on Tuesday, ratification of the sale will not be made until the tli-rectors meeting Friday at Fairmount Par*. At that time Mr. Eddy will tender the payment agreed on and will be given «tock certificates that carry control of the plant. The present meeting of thirty-seven days, which concludes July 6, will continue under the guidance of C. Bruce Head, general manager of Fairmount Park. After that date Mr. Eddy and his associates will be in charge. A fall meeting of fourteen days will fcfl staged at Fairmount Park, to begin August 30 and terminate September 14. The fourteen-day meeting in the fall makes up the fifty-one-day allotment to Fairmount Park by the Illinois Turf Association. The new owners will shortly make apol;oa-tion for the fall dates. Mr. Eddy, on his arrival here from Bain-bridge last Sunday, had a conference with Col. Matt J. Winn, at which time the latter set a price for the track. Mr. Eddy. ao:jm-panied by Robert Maestri and Placide Fiiy-gerio, departed that night for St. Louis to inspect Fairmount Park and returned here Tuesday, when the deal was practically closed excepting it lacked ratification by the directors. It is also said that Mr. Eddy secured an option on the plot of ground in East S*. Louis on which Mr. Winn had contemplated erecting a massive racing course. It is prol -able that this holding will also be taken over by Mr. Eddy and bis associates.
